TEHRAN, Iran, Sep. 7
Trend:
Iran's share in regional trade is about 2 percent , said former head of Iran Trade and Promotion Organization, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
About 50 percent of world trade is done via regional treaties but share of Iran's non-oil export in these regional treaties is less than 2 percent, Mohmmadreza Modoudi noted.
He indicated that research has shown that 90 percent of Iran's non-oil products were exported by 500 companies, most production companies are small and can't compete.
Iran's export during second term of Rouhani's administration had a $50 billion decline equal to 130 million tons of commodities, compared to his first term meanwhile the outlook for 2025 projected a 21.7 percent increase in foreign trade.
He noted that problem in Iran's foreign trade is that the country has neither fully used the trade capacity with neighbors nor global trade capacities, therefore even if sanctions against Iran are lifted the conditions in internal trade foundations is not in line with export leap.
"All the trade factors should become competitive for export including banks and services even administrative bureaucracy the only solution for the country is foreign trade," Modoudi said.
Iran's Customs Administration has recently announced that country has traded 50.8 million tons of non-oil products worth nearly $29 billion with other countries in first four month in current Iranian year(started March 21,2021).
