Iran bolsters Persian Gulf energy operations using new jacket structure

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The installation of the jacket at Iran's Bilal gas field, located in the Persian Gulf, has been completed, Trend reports via Iran's Ministry of Oil.

According to the report, the 75-meter-high structure, weighing 3,100 tons, has been installed at a depth of 65 meters in the Persian Gulf. Additionally, all work related to the upgrading operation has been completed.

The jacket structure was constructed by local specialists at Iran's Marine Industrial Company (SADRA) with a budget of $16 million.

Iran's Bilal gas field is located east of the South Pars shared gas field and 90 km southwest of Lavan Island. The development of this field has been entrusted to Petropars Company as a contractor under the supervision of the National Iranian Oil Company and Pars Oil and Gas Company. This gas field is expected to produce 14.1 million cubic meters (500 million cubic feet) of sour gas per day.
