Let Putin not to reproach us with Russia’s gas which we don’t receive: Saakashvili

Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan. 9/ Trend N. Kirtzkhalia/ Let Putin not to reproach us with the Russian gas which we don't receive, President Mikhail Saakashvili said at the Georgian governmental meeting on Jan. 9.

He held the meeting without Georgian Prime Minister Grigol Mgaloblishvili who is under treatment in Germany and will return Tbilisi on Jan. 11.

"Russia blackmailed us regarding gas in 2005. But afterwards we could diversify gas supplies and presently, we don't depend on Russia's blackmail unlike Europe. So, let Putin not to make such statements which aren't true," Saakashvili said.

Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri confirmed that Russia doesn't provide Georgia with gas. Georgia succeeded in signing five year agreement with Azerbaijan and gets gas on different contracts from there, he said.
