The Jordanian government on Wednesday condemned violence against civilians in the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem and warned that any military escalation would have "dangerous repercussions", dpa reported.
"Jordan condemns the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, which killed a number of people, including children and women, as well as the blast that targeted a bus in West Jerusalem today," Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Kayed said in a statement.
After threats by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel would retaliate for the Jerusalem bombing, Kayed said: "Any military escalation will have dangerous repercussions."
"It is high time for the Israeli government and all parties to take serious and tangible steps towards the achievement of the two- state solution that leads the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital," Kayed said.
