Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 February / Trend corr. G.Jabiyev / The Azerbaijani delegation, for the first time, is invited to take part in the event dedicated to the anniversary of Khojaly tragedy in Israel, MP Evda Abramov, the head of Azerbaijani-Israeli Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group, stated to trend on 7 February.
On 24 Feb, the Congress of Middle East Azerbaijanis will stage the ceremony dedicated to the 16th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy in Israel. The Turkish Embassy in Israel will implement the event. The photo-stands will be installed, as well as the books, materials, DVD, CD about hostilities committed by Armenians against Turks and Azerbaijanis, will be distributed.
Abramov stated that the composition of Azerbaijani delegation, which will participate in the event, is being specified. The delegation will involve MPs, representatives from State Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad and many other state structures. The event will be held in Haifa, which is the second largest city in Israel. In the future, it is also planned to hold the events dedicated to the Khojaly tragedy in other cities of Israel.
On the night of 25 to 26 February 1992, with the assistance of the Russian 366th regiment, the Armenian armed forces committed genocide in Khojaly. Hundreds of the Azerbaijani civilians lost their lives in the genocide. Moreover, thousands of people were injured and many are still missing.
