Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev decreed on establishment of Science Development Fund under the Republic of Azerbaijan to ensure stimulation of fundamental scientific researches in Azerbaijan, strengthen exploration of the country's natural resources and cultural and historical heritage, increase effectiveness of researches in various spheres of science and represent Azerbaijan's science worthily among the world scientific community, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
Jointly with the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the Cabinet of Ministers is in charge of preparing the draft statute for the Science Development Fund and submiting it to the President, making necessary arrangements for providing an appropriate place and technical base for the creation of Fund.
Upon another Presidential decree, Elchin Babayev was appointed executive director of the Fund.
