New members have been accepted to the European Azerbaijanis Congress (EAC) at the 3rd meeting in Frankfurt.
"The EAC new members comprise the Azerbaijanis Cultural Centre in Georgia, Azerbaijanis Coordination Centre in Germany, "Unified Azerbaijan" Society, Frankfurt-Azerbaijan society, "Bulgaria-Azerbaijan" friendship society, Vatan (Motherland) society, Latvian-Azerbaijani Cultural Centre Ojag (Hearth), "Azerbaijan" Norwegian Youth Organizations, Azerbaijanis Association in Poland, "Friendship" Ukrainian-Azerbaijani society and Azerbaijanis Cultural Centre in Switzerland," the State Committee on Diaspora said on April 15.
Until the next meeting of the Congress, the activity plan envisages forming coordination centre which will coordinate activities of the EAC member-organizations in the European countries and appointing one coordinator in the centre.
Under the resolution adopted at the meeting, the EAC's staff was changed. Two first vice president positions and 5 vice-president positions have been created to provide efficiency of the EAC's activity and fulfill the passed decisions. The new appointed first vice presidents are Federation of Turkish-Azerbaijani Community Chairman Bilal Dundar and Benelux Azerbaijanis Congress Honorable President Sahil Gasimov and the appointed vice presidents are Azerbaijanis Community Congress in Belarus Chairman Natig Bagirov, Estonian Parliamentary Member Eldar Afandiyev, Azerbaijanis Congress in Ukraine Chairman Akif Gulmammadov, Head of Azerbaijani House in Strasbourg Mustafa Alinja and Head of Azerbaijanis Coordination Centre in Germany Samira Patzer-Ismayilova. Later, composition of the Executive committee comprises 27 people.
Mainz Azerbaijani Society Chairman, Board Deputy Chairman of World Azerbaijanis Coordination Council and EAC First Vice President in previous composition Bashar Komur was elected the president of the EAC at the meeting.
At the meeting, State Committee on Diaspora Chairman Nazim Ibrahimov proposed to strengthen the EAC's youth wing, as well as form organization committee for fruitful use of youth organizations' opportunity and potential. The meeting commissioned Chairman of Azerbaijanis Youth Association in Norway Ramin Aliyev to organize the youth forum within a short period of time.
The European Azerbaijanis Congress was established at a meeting in Berlin on April 17, 2004. The main goal of the structure is to intensify ties among Azerbaijanis living in Europe, with their historic homeland, moral, political unity and solidarity among the Azerbaijanis of peace, protect their national, social and civil rights, maintain joint national-spiritual values and coordinate Azerbaijani communities and associations in the region. The EAC comprises over 40 diaspora organizations. Natig Agamirov was the ex-president of the organization.
