BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. A video conference was held between the Russian Trade Representative Office in Azerbaijan and exporters of the Russian Komi Republic within the framework of the "Hour with Trade Representative" project of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Trend reports on December 19 via the representative office.
According to the representative office, the specifics of work with Azerbaijani distributors, as well as the possibilities of companies from the Komi Republic to expand the range and increase the volume of export deliveries to Azerbaijan were discussed.
The peculiarity of trade and economic cooperation between the republic and Azerbaijan is that the Russian region is a net exporter of wood and timber products, as well as paper and cardboard. Import deliveries from Azerbaijan haven’t been carried out.
During the conference, Russian Trade Representative in Azerbaijan Ruslan Mirsayapov presented the latest information on the timber industry complex market on the territory of Azerbaijan, the needs of Azerbaijani consumers in the current economic situation, the possibilities of the trade representative office to support the export activities of Russian enterprises, and answered questions from entrepreneurs of the Komi Republic.
The issues of expediency of participation in specialized exhibition events taking place on the territory of Azerbaijan and the organization of business missions under the auspices of the regional Export Support Center were also addressed at the event.
"We believe that our further cooperation between the Russian Trade Representative Office in Azerbaijan and enterprises interested in entering the Azerbaijani market will give serious results in the form of conclusion of export contracts," Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Komi Republic Evgeny Ponomarenko said.
The event, organized jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the Komi Republic, was also attended by heads of regional development institutions and business associations, and representatives of enterprises of the republic, operating in the woodworking industry.
