ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 7. The Novgorod Export Support Center is hosting an online event for regional entrepreneurs, in collaboration with the Russian Trade Representative Office in Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
Scheduled for February 25, the event will prepare businesses from Novgorod for an upcoming trade mission to Turkmenistan in March.
The session will highlight opportunities for entering the Turkmen market, its unique features, key export sectors, and demand for Russian goods. It will also provide guidance on best practices for working with local businesses.
Novgorod companies have long-standing ties with Turkmenistan. In 2023, exports from Novgorod to Turkmenistan saw a dramatic 4.7-fold increase, mainly driven by sales of wood and wood products. Other notable exports included essential oils, perfumes, cosmetics, and various finished goods.
To note, according to Denis Nosachev, Minister of Investment Policy for Novgorod Region, exports to Turkmenistan reached $1.2 million by the end of the first nine months of 2024, with a steady flow of products. Nosachev emphasized the importance of the upcoming online session for businesses planning to take part in the trade mission, describing the "Hour with the Trade Representative" as an excellent way to explore the foreign market and discover new opportunities.
