Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 May / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ The growth rate of consumer goods prices and service tariffs totaled 3.1% in April 2008 as compared to March 2008, and 17.8% in January to April as compared to the same period of 2007, State Statistics Committee said on 19 May. The growth rate of the inflation reached 10.9% for the four months.
In April, the foodstuff prices increased by 4.5%, nonfoods - by 1.7% and service tariffs - 1%.
As compared to January to April 2007, the foodstuff prices increased by 23.7%, nonfoods - 9.8% and tariff services - 11.2%.
In April, the base index of the consumer prices, counted by deducting goods and services, subject to the seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables) and prices regulated by the government, made up 103.4%, and 119% from January to April as compared to the same period of 2007.
