The World Bank's social projects head Alexandra Posarak will visit Baku to review work on the project Development of Social Protection in Azerbaijan from April 13-27, the World Bank's Baku office said on April 2.
The mission will visit the country to get familiarize with implementation of the project.
The project's cost hit $54.6 million.
The project includes four components: full modernization of labor market, including improvement of labor legislation, labor protection, work of employment agencies; forming of social maintenance policy; pension system modernization and management of the project.
Full institutional development and professional education modernization, designing of professional classifiers upon the European practice are envisaged within the project. Centers of professional education are envisaged to be established under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The project is for five years with implementation period - 2008-2013.
The World Bank has already financed one project in Azerbaijani social sector. So, the project Pension Reforms and Social Maintenance has been realized in the country since 2005. The bank allocated $10 million.
