The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Turkey reached $4 billion in 2011, which is 25 percent more than in 2010, the TRT TV Channel quoted Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as saying during his visit to Turkey on Wednesday.
The head of the state said Turkish companies are involved in virtually all areas of business in Turkmenistan.
Mr Berdimuhamedov said political and economic relations between the countries and ways to improve them were discussed during the visit.
The Turkmen President's official visit to Turkey has begun on Wednesday.
The sides are expected to sign a package of bilateral documents.
Turkey is amongst Turkmenistan's largest trading partners. With the participation of Turkish companies, a number of major projects including the construction of an industrial infrastructure as well as social and cultural are being implemented.
One area of cooperation is the tourism industry, which is rapidly growing in Turkmenistan due to a large scale project to create the Avaz seaside resort on the Caspian coast.
