The number of plastic cards served by the MilliKart processing center amounted to 673,000 units on August 1, 2014, the center told Trend Sept.1.
The number of card transactions served in MilliKart totaled 3.72 million units, and the volume of transactions - 643.28 million AZN.
The number of ATMs installed by 15 banks served by the center reached 407 on August 1, 2014. The number of POS-terminals served by MilliKart is 8,268 000 units.
Millikart Group Ltd. with a registered capital of 4 million AZN was founded by 18 banks on July 14, 2006. In 2010, the authorized capital of Millikart Group was increased to 5 million AZN, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) became the nineteenth bank to join the organization. The bank increased the authorized capital of MilliKart by 500 AZN and got 10 percent interest in the company.
There are 44 banks in the country. By the end of June 2014 the number of payment cards in Azerbaijan amounted to 6,003 million units, which is a 5.8 percent increase since the beginning of the year. The number increased by 13.2 percent compared to the same period of 2013. The total turnover on payment cards via ATMs and POS-terminals in January-June this year amounted to 5.634 billion AZN, and the total number of operations - 37.93 million units.
