In the first eight months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), 3,803,709 tons of goods (over $1.903 billion in terms of value) were exported through customs points and border markets of Iran's Kermanshah Province, general manager of the Kermanshah customs office, Khalil Heydari said in an interview with IRNA.
Heydari noted that compared to the previous year, exports increased 53 percent in terms of value and 33 percent in terms of weight.
He noted that the Parviz Khan, Khosravi and Paveh customs points accounted for 2,466,227 tons of exports worth almost $1.38 billion, and compared to the previous year there was a 47 percent growth in terms of weight and a 77 percent increase in terms of value.
"Regarding the rest of the customs points, 1,337,482 tons of goods worth just under $866 million were exported, which indicates an increase both in weight and value, 13 and 32 percent, respectively," he added.
Heydari said the exported products were mostly home appliances, detergents, rubber, potatoes, tomatoes, ceramics, air coolers and polyethylene granules.
During the period, 637 types of goods were exported to 36 countries from Kermanshah, the official added.
