Daily gas exports to Turkey in the first stage of the development of Shah Deniz offshore field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is about 18 million cubic meters, said a source in the industry said on April 14. Daily export to Georgia from Shah Deniz composes 1.3-1.4 million cubic meters of gas.
The rest of the gas generated is supplied to Azerbaijan.
According to the source, currently the daily gas production on the field is 21-22 million cubic meters.
The contract on development of Shah Deniz fields was signed on 4 June 1996. The participants of the agreement are: BP (operator) - 25.5%, Statoil Hydro - 25.5%, NICO - 10%, Total - 10%, LukAgip - 10%, TPAO- 9%, SOCAR - 10%.
The realization of the second stage of Shah Deniz development is planned to commence by 2014. Nearly 20 billion cubic meters of gas are planned to be generated within the second stage.
