The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will put into operation new carbamide plants in Azerbaijan and Georgia in 2014-2015, head of the Azerkimya production association Mukhtar Babayev said at the sixth Caspian Oil and Gas Trading and Transportation Conference in Baku today.

He said that new production will allow SOCAR to enter new export markets in terms of rising demand for fertilisers.

Regarding petrochemicals for export, Babayev stressed that at present the production association's goods are being exported via the Georgian Black Sea ports. However, after launching a new Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line there will be an opportunity of direct access to the Turkish market and Europe.

Babayev said that at present the production association exports its products to Turkey, Russia, China and other countries in Europe and Asia.
