Turkmenistan and China to deepen energy partnership

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 17. Turkmenistan and China have reached an agreement on expanding the sphere of energy cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations, Trend reports.

This agreement was reached during a meeting of a high-ranking delegation of Turkmenistan with Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Ding Xuexiang in Beijing.

The Turkmen delegation included Ashirguly Begliyev, adviser to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues, and Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting of the parties took place on the eve of the third Forum of International Cooperation within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, which will be held in the Chinese capital from October 18 through October 19.

The Turkmen side stated that Ashgabat and Beijing have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in the gas sector, adding that Turkmenistan is ready to continue to deepen bilateral energy cooperation and expand the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

In turn, Ding Xuexiang said that China is ready to work with Turkmenistan to fully implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state, deepen cooperation in the field of energy, and advance bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and China is an important element of the foreign policy of both countries and has been actively developing for many years. Based on long-term partnerships, it covers various sectors, including energy, transport, trade, and infrastructure projects.
