BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Foreign citizens' card transactions in Azerbaijan increased by 18.15 percent, or 184.9 million manat, or $108.7 million, from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
According to the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan, from January through June this year, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan made transactions worth 1.203 billion manat ($707.6 million) through bank cards, compared to 1.018 billion manat ($598.8 million) in the same period last year.
In January, transactions amounted to 187.9 million manat, or $110.5 million, reflecting a growth of 9.56 percent. In February, the total was 184.3 million manat, or $108.4 million, up by 13.56 percent. March saw a reduction to 173.7 million manat, or $102.1 million, a decline of 20.36 percent. April's transactions increased to 210 million manat, or $123.5 million, growing by 45.23 percent. In May, transactions reached 225.8 million manat, or $132.8 million, a growth of 30.22 percent. Finally, in June, transactions totaled 221.7 million manat, or $130.4 million, marking a growth of 49.19 percent.
In 2023, the volume of card transactions by foreign citizens in Azerbaijan increased by 1.77 percent, or 38.1 million manat ($22.4 million), reaching a total of 2.193 billion manat, or $1.289 billion.
In January, foreign citizens made transactions worth 171.5 million manat ($100.9 million) through bank cards. In February, this amount was 162.3 million manat ($95.0 million), and in March, it increased to 218.1 million manat ($128.3 million). April saw transactions of 126 million manat ($74.1 million), while May recorded 173.4 million manat ($101.9 million). In June, transactions amounted to 148.6 million manat ($87.5 million), and in July, 218.8 million manat ($128 million). August saw 200.9 million manat ($118.2 million) in transactions; September had 186.9 million manat ($110.5 million); October reached 203.6 million manat ($119.8 million); November totaled 181.8 million manat ($107.6 million); and December ended with 202.7 million manat ($119.2 million).
In 2022, foreign citizens in Azerbaijan made transactions totaling 2.155 billion manat, or $1.267 billion, through bank cards.
