Azerbaijan, Baku, March 9 / Trend H.Valiyev /
Azerbaijan's primary provider Delta Telecom Company has signed a cooperation agreement with one of the largest international carriers, Level 3 Communications, Delta Telecom Technical Director Raid Alakbarli told Trend.
Alakbarli said the agreement with Level 3 is the third contract signed for access to the network level Tier1. The company has similar contracts with major international operators such as TeliaSonera and GLOBEINTERNET (TATA Communications).
Connection to Level 3 allowed Delta Telecom to receive an alternative outlet to the global network, increase the volume of traffic entering the country and increase the stability of the Azerbaijani segment of the Internet.
"The cooperation with Level 3 Communications allowed us to receive new access to the network level Tier1. We were able to get even closer to the Internet world, namely the U.S. and European digital content and Internet resources, with our connection to the new network. But, first of all, we are talking about increasing the speed of data transmission, and the network stability and quality of Internet services offered by the Azerbaijani operators," he said.
Under the agreement, the volume of traffic coming into the country increased to several Gb / s, and traffic will be increased to tens of Gbps in the future.
The company Level 3 Communications is a Tier1-operator and one of the world's largest telecommunications companies, which is represented in the United States and Europe. Level 3 owns one of the largest main channel data transmission (backbone) networks in the world.
