PMO records increase in port operations at Iran’s Charak port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Charak port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 12 percent in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 155,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the 12th month. Of this amount, 127,000 tons were loaded, and 27,800 tons were unloaded.

About 33,700 tons of cargo were exported through the Charak port during the reporting month.

At the same time, about 93,400 tons of cargo were loaded and 27,800 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage within the 12th month.

In general, 16,700 tons of essential products, 318 tons of metal products, about 101,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 4,040 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 265 tons of chemicals, 80 tons of leather, clothing, paper and wood materials, 32,000 tons of small and assorted goods, and 840 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Charak port in the 12th month of the current Iranian year.

About 12.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 12th month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 6.2 million tons were loaded and 5.98 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 5.3 percent, compared to the same month of the preceding Iranian year.
