Assets of Kazakh microfinance organizations increase

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 5. The assets of Kazakhstan's organizations engaged in microfinance activities amounted to 2.4 trillion tenge (about $5,2 billion) as of July 1, 2023, having increased over the 2nd quarter of this year by 7.4 percent or 167 billion tenge ($362.3 million), Trend reports.

The data of Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for regulation and development of the financial market shows that growth since the beginning of 2023 was 15 percent. The increase in assets is due to the growth of the loan portfolio of microfinance organizations.

In the structure of organizations engaged in microfinance activities, the largest share of assets falls on microfinance organizations - 1.26 trillion tenge (about $2.7 billion) or 52.1 percent, credit partnerships - 880 billion tenge (about $1.9 billion) or 36.2 percent, pawnshops - 284 billion tenge (about $616 million) or 11.7 percent.

Loan portfolio of organizations engaged in microfinance activities for the 2nd quarter of this year increased by 5.5 percent to 2.3 trillion tenge or about $5 billion (10 percent growth since the beginning of 2023).
