ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 11. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany amounted to $2.8 billion last year, which is 21 percent more than in 2021, said First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar during the Kazakh-German business forum, Trend reports.
"Kazakhstan is Germany's leading economic partner in Central Asia, with more than 80 percent of all trade with our region coming from Kazakhstan. Despite all the obstacles, mutual trade between our countries increased last year, and there are good prerequisites for a significant increase in trade turnover this year," he said.
According to him, this became possible thanks to positive trends in the implementation of joint projects.
As Sklyar noted, today in Kazakhstan there are more than 1,000 operating companies with German capital. "We are interested in continuing to actively work with German businesses to launch new investment projects," he added.
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany for 2022 amounted to $2.8 billion, which is 24.7 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year ($2.2 billion).
Exports from Kazakhstan to Germany in 2022 increased by 33.6 percent and amounted to $233 million.
The growth in exports of goods from Kazakhstan to Germany was mainly achieved due to ferroalloys: an increase of 75 percent (from $128 million to $225 million); oil: an increase of 2.2 times (from $57 million to $125 million dollars); ores of precious metals: an increase of $12.8 million (from 0 to $12.8 million dollars); and fish fillet: an increase of 2 times (from $9.1 to $18.7 million dollars).
