Kyrgyz Foreign Minister to meet OSCE General Secretary

The Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ednan Karabaev, will meet with the General Secretary of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry for Foreign Affairs reported.

The meeting is expected to be the part of the 16th regular session of the OSCE member states' foreign ministers to run in Helsinki, Finland on December 4-5, 2008, where Karabaev heads the Kyrgyz diplomatic delegation, reported 24.kg.

The session's agenda traditionally includes a range of important issues, such as consideration and adoption of the Political Declaration of Ministers, extension of the General Secretary's term, border areas' safety discussion, human rights development and human trafficking control. Another important issue to be discussed is the OSCE member states' participation in Afghanistan restoration. In this regard Kyrgyzstan will set up a Regional customs training center in Bishkek for Afghani customs workers.

The speech of Karabaev is scheduled for the first part of the December 4th plenary session, after what the minister plans to meet with the Secretary General.
