DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, January 31. Tajikistan exported electricity valued at over $110.4 million in 2023, which is a 3.9-percent increase compared to 2022, Trend reports.
According to the National Statistical Agency under the president of Tajikistan, the share of electricity deliveries in the country's total export volume was 4.5 percent in the past year.
In December 2023, the value of Tajikistan's electricity exports totaled $7.2 million, which is 3.8 times more than in November 2023 ($1.9 million). Tajikistan had agreements for electricity exports in 2023 with only two countries—Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, Tajikistan's overall foreign trade turnover exceeded $8.3 billion in 2023, which is a 13.9 percent surge compared to 2022.
Imports reached $5.9 billion in 2023, increasing by 13.8 percent compared to 2022. Tajikistan's exports in 2023 amounted to over $2.4 billion, a 14.3 percent increase compared to 2022.
