TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 9. Uzbekistan and China signed a memorandum on the implementation of priority grant projects, Trend reports.
The news followed a recent meeting between Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Sarvar Khamidov and Vice Chairman of the International Development Cooperation Agency of China Deng Boqing.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed prospects for expanding bilateral financial and technical cooperation. The signed document provides for the implementation of 14 projects totaling over $190 million in sectors such as agriculture and water management, healthcare, education, and institutional development.
Earlier this month, Uzbekistan’s Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Plant JSC and the Chinese Shandong Gold Group Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation. The document includes issues of deep processing of copper, zinc, and other metals; the development of mineral resources; and the manufacturing of new types of products based on copper, zinc, cadmium, molybdenum, tungsten, and other rare metals.
