TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 20. Spanish BioGreen Road company presented a technology on macromolecular transformation of water into gel to Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
The presentation took place during a meeting hosted by Uzbek Embassy with the speaker on food issues of the Spanish Senate Commission on Agriculture, Livestock and Food Antonio Luengo, as well as with representatives of BioGreen Road company.
The sides discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of water management in agriculture.
During the conversation, Senator Antonio Luengo noted that the province of Murcia, being one of the arid regions of Spain with insufficient rainfall and stony soil similar to the conditions in Uzbekistan, faces the problem of limited water resources for irrigation of fields.
The technology helps to move salt deposits away from plant roots, creating moisture bubbles around them, which reduces water consumption by more than 50 percent, keeping it on the surface of the root layer.
Application of this technology in Murcia province in cultivation of greens and fruits in field conditions similar to Uzbekistan resulted in increase of yield by 10 percent and more.
Based on the results of the meeting, the sides agreed to organize a visit of BioGreen Road representatives to Uzbekistan in the nearest future.
Earlier, Uzbekistan and Spanish SERCOBE National Association of Manufacturers of Capital Goods reached an agreement to organize presentations and round tables dedicated to cooperation in agriculture, water resources, energy, and environmental fields.
