TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 13. Uzbekistan's volume of IT exports amounted to $200 million from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
This was announced during a meeting, where Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented a report on measures to develop digital technologies in the country, expand specialized training for young people, and support projects in the field.
At the same time, Uzbekistan's volume of services in the IT sphere increased by 120 percent, and 5,000 jobs were created from January through April 2024.
In terms of regions, the main share of IT services and exports falls on the city of Tashkent, where 80 percent of specialists live.
Moreover, the number of IT companies in the country is approaching 2,000 now. In these companies, 30,000 people are provided with high-paid jobs. More than 70,000 young people are engaged in IT independently.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan plans to increase exports of IT services and soft products to $5 billion in the near future, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The president of Uzbekistan noted that the number of residents of IT Park will increase by 10 times and that 100,000 jobs will be created in the future.
He also added that the country is establishing an International Center for Digital Technologies.
