TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 10. Trade between Uzbekistan and the US has surged significantly in the first seven months of 2024, Trend reports via the Uzbekistan Statistics Agency.
According to the report, the trade turnover reached $553.3 million, marking a 72 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, which was $321.6 million.
This growth has put the US in the big leagues as one of Uzbekistan's top ten trading partners.
Uzbekistan's exports to the US amounted to $185.3 million, a dramatic 120.8 percent increase from $83.9 million recorded in January-July, 2023.
Meanwhile, imports from the US hit $368 million, up 54.8 percent from $237.6 million in the prior year.
Overall, Uzbekistan's total trade volume for the first seven months of 2024 reached $36.8 billion, up 5.4 percent from $34.9 billion during the same period last year.
The overall value of the nation's exports was $14.7 billion, while the value of its imports was $22 billion.
