Iran’s exports of oil, gas and petrochemical products have significantly increased since the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA/ nuclear deal) in January 2016, a deputy oil minister told Trend.
Amirhossein Zamaninia, Iranian deputy oil minister for international affairs, has said that the exports of oil and condensate have almost been doubled following the implementation of the nuclear pact.
According to the official, Iran currently exports 2.6 million barrels of crude and condensate per day. The figure during the sanctions bottomed at 800,000 barrels per day.
Speaking about Iran’s gas exports, he said that Iran’s exports of gas over the first eight months of the current fiscal year (starting March 20) reached 37 million cubic meters per day. The figure during the sanctions era stood at 25 million cubic meters.
The exports of petrochemical products have also surged after the removal of the international sanctions, he mentioned.
The volume of exports of petrochemical products reached 20.9 million tons from 12.8 million tons during the sanctions era.
The nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers lifted economic sanctions in exchange for Tehran limiting its nuclear program.
