The number of tourists (excluding non-tourist trips) traveling to Georgia through Tbilisi International Airport from January through October 2021 amounted to 451,955 people, which is an increase of 131.1 percent, compared 195,599 visitors in the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.
However, the same figure decreased by 62.7 percent, compared to 1.2 million tourists traveling to Georgia through Tbilisi Airport over the reporting period of 2019.
The share of Tbilisi Airport by the tourist inflow to Georgia from January through October 2021 accounted for 32.4 percent.
Batumi International Airport received 199,371 tourists over the reporting period of 2021, which is an increase of 904.2 percent, compared to 19,854 visitors in first 10 months of 2020.
The same index decreased by 15.6 percent, compared to 236,297 tourists coming to Georgia through Batumi Airport over the same period of 2019.
Batumi Airport accounted for 14.3 percent of the total tourist inflow to Georgia over the reporting period of 2021.
The number of tourists traveling to Georgia through Kutaisi International Airport from January through October 2021 totaled 71,353 people – increase of 53 percent, compared to 46,647 visitors over the same period of 2020.
Tourist inflow through Kutaisi Airport in the reporting period of 2021 decreased by 61.8 percent, compared to first 10 months of 2019, when 186,925 people visited Georgia.
The share of Kutaisi Airport in the total tourist inflow to Georgia from January through October 2021 accounted for 5.1 percent.
Meanwhile, tourist trips to Georgia in the reporting period of 2021 decreased by 1.8 percent and amounted to 1.3 million visitors, compared to 1.4 million over first 10 months of 2020.
