Egypt's military ruler Hussein Tantawi announced three days of national mourning Thursday, after 74 people were killed in rioting following a local football game, state television reported dpa reported

The mourning was to start Thursday and run until Saturday, according to the report.

Earlier, Tantawi showed up at a military airport in eastern Cairo to receive players and fans flown out aboard military aircraft from the coastal city of Port Said where the rioting broke out
