Saudi Arabia on Monday called on the international community to do more to stop Israeli military offensive against the Gaza Strip.
A cabinet statement described the Israeli offensive as " barbarity" while urging for an international position which "is feeble in dealing with unprecedented Israeli violations in dealing with international crises," the state SPA news agency reported.
The statement disagreed with the remarks that the Israeli offensive is "self-defence," saying that it "is to close one's eyes to the history of Israeli occupation and settlement of Palestinian territories, practices of closure and terror, and the massive imbalance in power between the two sides."
Meanwhile, Riyadh holds the Palestinian leadership for being specially responsibile for solving the crisis, stressing that " effective Arab-Islamic action can only come about through unity, cohesion and integrity in Palestinian decision-making."
The Israeli army forces continued on Monday the military operations into the Gaza Strip for the tenth consecutive day, reported Xinhua .
Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance services in the Palestinian health ministry said the death toll since the beginning of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip has hit to 537 killed and 2600 wounded, 800 of them are in critical conditions.
