FMI to assess Azerbaijan’s capital market training needs

On April 13, Financial Markets International (FMI) - a U.S.-based consulting company's experts, Charles Seeger, John R. Hardy, Jeremy Cripps arrived to Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) to conduct the initial phase of the Capital Markets Training project which became possible by the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), BSE reported. 

During this phase of the project the experts will conduct meetings with the managements of the State Committee for Securities, National Depository Centre, local brokerage companies and other participants of the local financial market. 

The goal of this phase will be preparation of a Training Needs Assessment report along with evaluation of the shortcomings of the Azeri financial market. The next phases of the project will include implementation of trainings and provision of recommendations regarding the development of the market.
The experts will also be preparing proposals for corporate governance standards and institualization of the professional market participants and optimization of the market infrastructure.
