Armenia freed Azerbaijani military captive Samir Mammadov. "At the end of January 2008, through mediation and assistance of several international organizations, Azerbaijani military captive Samir Mammadov was freed from the Yerevan-Kentron prison and sent to one of the European countries," a source in Press Service of the National Security Service of Armenia reported to Novosti-Armenia on 1 February.
Mammadov was taken prisoner on 24 December 2006. Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry stated that it is aware of transferring Samir Mammadov to the third country and investigations are being held on this issue.
