South Caucasus Play Geopolitical Significance for OSCE and EU – OSCE Chairman

Georgia, Tbilisi, 27 February / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The South Caucasus plays significance for OSCE and European Union from geopolitical point of view, Ilkka Kanerva, the Finland Foreign Minister and OSCE acting chairman, said on his visit to Tbilisi.

"My visit is continuation of the successful visit by Michael Saakashvili to Helsinki," Kanerva stated.

Kanerva noted that improvement of relations with Russia was the relevant element of prospecting of the region..

OSCE acting chairman positively assesses the efforts of Georgia to normalize relations with Russia. " Georgia assumed obligations and makes all the best to improve relations with Russia," Kanerva stated after his meeting with David Bakradze, Georgian Foreign Minister.
