Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze will visit the United States on April 13. This is the Georgian foreign minister's first visit to the U.S. after elections of the U.S. new administration.
Vashadze will meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The meeting will focus on an issue to adopt the UN Security Council's next resolution, as well as a situation in the Georgian-Abkhazia and Georgian-Ossetin conflict zones. Vashadze and Clinton will also examine to develop the action plan to fulfill principles of the U.S.-Georgia Charter on strategic partnership.
During the visit, Vashadze will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and discuss perspectives of the UN's next activity in Georgia. Moreover, the Georgian foreign minister will meet with UN Deputy Secretary General Linn Pasco, as well as permanent representatives of France, Turkey, UK, China, U.S. and Austria to UN.
Vashadze will leave the U.S. on April 16.
