Azerbaijan, Baku, April 13 / Trend , A.Huseynbala/
An Azerbaijani opposition member of parliament has developed two new bills.
"One of bills envisage marking the 1st of May as the Day of Workers," Musavat MP Group member Panah Huseyn told Trend on April 13. "The bill has been registered at the parliament."
There are twelve opposition MPs in Parliament. Despite of an opposition deputy group out of seven peoples was created after the parliamentary elections, it did not have success. At present, there is a Musavat deputy group out comprising five people in the parliament. This deputy group was created after the parliamentary elections in November 2005. The group unites four members of the opposition Musavat party - Nasib Nasibli, Arzu Samadbayli, Ikram Israfil, Iltizam Akbarli and Panah Huseyin.
So far, the MP group has submitted 10 bills to the parliament.
Huseyn said the second bill is connected with amending the Law on Citizenship. "Amendment which was injected into this law last year aroused a lot of serious problems for 10 thousands of people," Huseyn said.
The amendment which was injected into the Paragraph 1 of the Article 5 of the Law on Citizenship consider those people as citizens who were registered in 1998 when the law was adopted, the parliamentarian said. "Therefore, children whose parents lived in Russia, Turkey or other countries for a long time face with difficulty while receiving citizenship," Panah said.
Panah said this amendment contradicts the Articles 52 and 53 of the Constitution. "We have received a data that bribery and corruption arouse at some governmental bodies due to this amendment. Therefore, I put forward a legislative initiative to solve this problem," the member of the parliament said.
