NATO, the U.S. or any other countries should not interfere in the situation in Libya, member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Fevzi Shanverdi said.
"Libya's authorities must solve the problems in their country themselves, without any foreign interference," Shanverdi, heading "Turkey-Libya" inter-parliamentary friendship group, told Trend over phone.
The protests demanding leaving of Gaddafi, who has been ruling the country for over 40 years, have been held since February 15 in the Libyan provinces. According to the international organizations, the authorities brutally suppress demonstrations. During the clashes with security forces and foreign mercenaries, up to 6,000 people died.
On March 1 the U.S. representative to UN Susan Rice stated that the United States with NATO partners are discussing the possibility of military intervention in the situation, RIA Novosti reported.
British Prime Minister David Cameron said that he did not rule out using military force against Gaddafi. Pentagon representatives reported that the U.S. carries out regrouping of naval and air forces around Libya.
Son of Libyan leader Seiful-Islam Gaddafi has recently made accusations against Great Britain. He said that British Prime Minister seeks to create an image of a hero and is trying to take advantage of Libyan oil with covetousness.
Gaddafi's son has warned NATO and Western countries that using of military force is unacceptable, but in any case, Libya is not afraid of Western forces.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey is looking for possible non-military ways to resolve a difficult situation in Libya. He said that in this case mistakes made during invading Iraq must not repeat.
He said that if we get the request from Libya's authorities, Turkey can act as a mediator between the opposition and the government of the country to resolve the country's problems.
"Turkey can share its experience of building a democratic society with the Arab countries," Shanverdi said.
