Congress of Azerbaijanis Holds its First Meeting in Israel

Israel, Jerusalem / Trend corr. R.Mammadov / World Congress of Azerbaijanis held the first event in the headquarters of the organization in Tel-Aviv due to the New Year in Israel. Attending the event diplomats, public-political activists and businessmen.

Alex Shapiro-Suliman, the president of the Congress, spoke about the establishment history of the World Congress of Azerbaijanis and future projects of the organization.

"The goal of the organization is to become powerful and efficient representing the interests of the upgrade world Azerbaijanis and the Congress seems to be abundant organization, able to represent, stand up and lobby interests of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel.

We should do everything for Azerbaijani people to deserve the Azerbaijani Diaspora," Alex Shapiro-Suliman, said.

The Turkish ambassador to Israel, Namik Tan, stated that he greets the information about establishment of the World Azerbaijanis Congress and expressed intension to support future projects of the organization.

The ex-President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, said the Azerbaijan and Turkey is the one nation and two states. We remember this statement, we have one language, culture and one mentality, Namik said.

Laja Jvania, the Georgian ambassador to Israel, said that there was not Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel causing establishment of the Coordinating Council joining the Azerbaijanis by birth, which will strengthen and develop relations between Azerbaijan and Israel. " Azerbaijan is very important country for Israel; Azerbaijan is both the religious and a secular country. Israel considers a great priority to cooperate with Azerbaijan," diplomat said.

Anar Mammadkhanov, the MP of the Azerbaijani Parliament, stated that he was very pleasant by establishment of the World Congress of Azerbaijanis.
