Azerbaijan’s Constitutional Court received complaints mostly related with court decisions in 2008

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 14/ Trend , K. Zarbaliyeva/ A total of 663 complaints Azerbaijan's Constitutional Court received in 2008 were related with court decisions.

As many as 341 resolutions were passed on complaints. The court decisions on abuse of property, housing rights and freedoms are disputable. The court received 1, 654 petition and complaints in 2008. The court discussed 359 of complaints, press service of the Constitutional Court said to Trend

The court is examining 45 complaints at the moment.

Court's Citizens and Complaints Reception Department informed as many as 274 petitioners as soon as their complaints were examined and explained their right to re-appeal the court. 

About 557 of petitions and complaints were sent to respective bodies as they were beyond court's powers and 464 complaints were sent back to citizens.

The Plenum of the Constitutional Court passed 17 decisions and 1 resolution in 2008.

The decisions said the disputable decisions contradict the Constitution and laws. They also interpreted regulations and made certain recommendations to law enforcers, courts and officials.
