BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. A total of 2.1 billion manat ($1.2 billion) worth of chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber, and plastic products were produced in Azerbaijan last year.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistics Committee shows that compared to the previous year, production of pharmaceutical products increased by 81.5 percent, rubber and plastic products - by 18 percent, and chemical industry products - by 6.5 percent.
Moreover, it was noted that the production of urea increased by 43.8 percent, nitrogen - by 11.6 percent, methanol - by 4.4 percent, plastic bags and sacks made of rubber and plastic, except polyethylene - 2.9 times, plates, boards of porous plastic mass - by 40.3 percent, plastic bottles, vials, and similar products - by 22.6 percent, and the production of bags and sacks made of polyethylene - by 5.9 percent.
