ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 11. By 2035, Shymkent, Kazakhstan, intends to elevate the proportion of multi-apartment housing to 60 percent, so restraining the unregulated proliferation of private residential zones, as conveyed to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the city's urban development strategy, Trend reports.
President Tokayev was briefed on the efforts to improve the architectural appearance of the city and the development of housing and communal services.
"In 2022, during a meeting with the public of Shymkent, Tokayev instructed them to revise the general plan and modernize the city’s transport, logistics, and engineering infrastructure," the press service of the President of Kazakhstan reported.
The president was presented with prospective projects for the construction of a new Central Stadium, a perinatal center, a sports complex for Paralympians, schools, and other social infrastructure.
This year, about 1.4 million square meters of housing are planned to be commissioned, with over 320,000 square meters to be built using the state budget. The development of the neighborhoods "Akzhayik," "Bozaryk," and "Turan" is actively underway.
