BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. With the support of and within the framework of projects implemented by the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the M.F. Akhundov Georgian-Azerbaijani Charity Society has begun operating in the Georgian city of Batumi.

The head of the society, Rovshan Namazov, stated that the projects implemented by the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, the educational materials it has prepared, and the cultural centers it has established play an important role in strengthening the ties of Azerbaijanis living abroad with their historical Homeland. According to him, the newly established M.F. Akhundov Georgian-Azerbaijani Charity Society will also contribute to bringing together Azerbaijanis living in Batumi, preserving national and spiritual values, and strengthening national identity through language courses, cultural events, and projects and initiatives aimed at youth development.

Rovshan Namazov emphasized that the society's activities will not be limited solely to preserving the native language and national-cultural heritage. The organization will also support the active participation of Azerbaijanis living in Batumi in the city's socio-economic and public life, as well as their successful integration into Georgia's multicultural environment.

The society's activity program for the near future includes teaching Georgian and foreign languages alongside the native language, organizing exhibitions introducing Azerbaijan's history and culture, literary and artistic evenings, and events dedicated to national holidays. In addition, it envisages providing social and moral support to compatriots in need living in the region, as well as Azerbaijani students studying in Batumi.

It was noted that this initiative will contribute to the further development of the existing friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. The activities of the M.F. Akhundov Georgian-Azerbaijani Charity Society will serve to expand cultural dialogue in the region and further strengthen the centuries-old bonds of friendship between the two nations.
