Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 30/ corr. Trend E. Ismaylov/ Repair of Russian dry cargo ship "Sarmat-1", wrecked in 30 miles from Baku, will be completed early 2009, Azerbaijan State Marine Administration said on Dec. 30.
"Repair work will be completed in 2009. Departure of the ship will be possible after decision of shipping register is got, the administration said.
The reason of "Sarmat-1" wreck was technical disrepair in steering of the ship.
In the process of repair the other damages wrought in the accident are also eliminated. Azerbaijan's State Marine Administration renders full aid to all conducted operations, the administration said earlier.
Message about the wrecked dry cargo ship "Sarmat-1" was got on Dec. 15 from Rescue Coordination Center based in Astrakhan. Dry cargo ship of river-sea kind "Sarmat-1" was constructed in 1986. There weren't any injured in the accident.
