Azerbaijan, Baku, April 20 / Trend , I.Khalilova/
Standard&Poor's international rating agency expands its activity in Azerbaijan and launched discussions with all Azerbaijani banks on cooperation opportunity, Standard&Poor's Managing Director and Russia/CIS Office Head Alexei Novikov said.
"We are holding the negotiations, naturally, with top-giant banks, while regarding that they will need a loan rating," Novikov said. "We specify a loan rating both on confidential and public base. Each of our clients has the right not to publish it. Therefore, I cannot divulge names of banks with which we negotiate."
Only 6 percent of Standard&Poor's rating falls to confidential ratings on the CIS.
The agency launched its activity in Azerbaijan roughly two years ago and continues to develop number of rating projects in the country at the moment.
Officials of Standard&Poor's visited Baku last week to get familiarization with Azerbaijan's banking sector and results of analytical risk assessment in the system.
They held presentation for heads of the country's banks.
