On April 21 the Turkmen state committee on fish industry announced the international tender on complete fish industry designing and construction of trout artificial breeding in Geoktepin region of Ahal district.
Deadline for tender proposals is May 20, 2009.
Development of aqua culture (breeding and growing of water organisms - fish, mollusk, Crustacea, seaweed in controlled terms to increase productivity of ponds) in different regions of the country is one of major directions of the state committee's activity.
Turkmenistan together with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Iran borders with the Caspian Sea rich with bio resources. Fish industry aims to improve and create infrastructure at the present stage. The state enterprise Balkanbalik ensures catch of fish in the Caspian Sea and their processing.
