This season Azerbaijan starts to extract gold mines. Initially it is planning to extract gold from the western Gedabay filed together with the Anglo Asian Mining Plc company. The company was licensed to explore six gold fields in the south and west of Azerbaijan - Gedabay, Ordubad, Gosha Bulag, Gizil Bulag, Vejnali and Soyutlu.
The participation of foreign experts in the production of yellow metal is important for Azerbaijan, as the country has no experience in developing gold fields. However, along with the use of industrial gold mining in the future the country has enormous potential to connect and develop non industrial production.
Resources of Azerbaijani fields are of gold mining which has several advantages over the extraction of ore, carried out on large fields: you can get fine gold, while avoiding expenditure for fragmentation, enrichment and development of technological processes, and extraction of gold is more secure due to lack of blasting.
These priorities allow to successfully develop the non environment gold production and create opportunity to increase incomes from this activity.
Moreover, there is a plenty of small gold deposits in the Republic. To work through these deposits by existing industrial technologies is mainly economically unprofitable. Big gold producing enterprises are not interested in deposits less than 100 and 200 kilogram as they know cost of a new field developing. But working through of small deposits by small associations can bring big profit. Even the smallest deposits having less than 50 kilogram and without any reserves can rather fill regional budget up. Profitable technology of small fields developing was thoroughly worked through abroad where deposits having the worst characteristics are used effectively.
Foreign experience demonstrates that price for gold can be increased owing to attraction of tourists for gold extraction. Tourism with gold extraction is very popular in America, Australia, Switzerland, Italy and many other countries. Tourists pay big sums willingly for an opportunity of own gold extraction. Each tourist brings several thousands of dollars which waste in the country and take 1 kilogram of gold away. Moreover, small field proves to be profitable and ensures stabile incomings in budget, work for local population in service, good trade turnover, promotes construction of hotels, roads, improvement of territory.
