On Oct. 20, the Parliament of Azerbaijan cancelled additions to the Law on Entrepreneurship, which envisaged a ban on employing foreign citizens to the posts of heads of foreign branches and representative offices.
The chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic policy Ziyad Samadzade said during the plenary meeting that "despite that Parliament approved these amendments, the law has not been signed by the Head of State, since the Presidential administration returned it for revision".
According to him, in the returned document was stated to cancel the amendments.
Under the cancelled amendments to the law, deputy heads of branches and representative offices of foreign legal entities, founded by foreign nationals or legal entities, were to be citizens of Azerbaijan and their names were to be agreed with the relevant executive authorities.
Law on Entrepreneurship has been acting since 1992.
