The volume of Iran's export to Iraq will be increased to $10 billion by late this year, IRNA reported quoting General Director of IRAN-IRAQ Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi as saying. The Iranian new year begins in March.
"We would like to bring the volume of export to Iraq to at least $20 billion on by late 2015. The figure was $7 billion last year," he said.
Some $4.1 billion fell to the export of technical and engineering services and energy, while consumer goods are in most demand in Iraq.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Iran is the third largest country in the Middle East and Central Asia in terms of exports and imports.
Previously Iran and Iraq signed five agreements on cooperation. Iran, Syria and Iraq recently signed agreement to export and transit gas from the South Pars.
