Given the fact that Iran has nothing less than foreign brands in terms of technology and quality, it can be present in other countries, especially in the Middle East, market spokesman of Home Appliances Manufacturers Union Hamidreza Ghaznavi told Trend.
The latest plan to target Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was also launched this year, but the fluctuation in foreign exchange rates and policies has hindered the plan, he said.
"Domestic brands have to reduce the cost to prevail market in competition with major brands," he said.
On the other hand, given the fact that the major brands such as Samsung and LG are global and their production is much more than Iran`s domestic home appliances brands, therefore their cost is ultimately lower, he said.
“Our priority is to supply the domestic market, and then we will implement our plans for participation in CIS. We expect the Iranian home appliances in CIS countries, due to the quality and price will be welcomed.”
The provinces of Tehran, Alborz, Khorasan Razavi, East Azarbaijan, Isfahan and Qazvin are the main hubs of home appliances production in Iran.
He said earlier this year that home appliance prices have increased by about 5 percent compared with a last year.
“The main reason for the increase in price is the rise in the price of steel and petrochemical products in the market, which constitute the raw materials for the home appliance industry,” he said.
